The family states that they do not want to draw any more unwanted attention from the public stating that the boys have been living in constant fear since the incident had occurred. Claiming this as reasoning for their silence. 

They claim that their statement can be confirmed with General Manala from SAPS. 

They have claimed to have safely left the country even with ut being a difficult decision. Hoping that one day they will return to South Africa.
